Although details are still unclear, we are planning to bring MBArk “MBAck” in 2023. This might include another MBArk2Boulder Food Leadership Conference, and it will definitely include our signature program at Expo West in Anaheim in March, 2023.

From 2011 through 2020, we ran many programs for MBA and sustainability grad students at Expo West and Expo East. The programming expanded to include professionals in search of training and inspiration at the Food Industry Executive Leadership Development (FIELD) certificate program in 2018 and 2019. And we added undergraduates into the mix with the MBArk2Boulder conferences in 2019 and 2020.

But a business model predicated on individuals and companies using discretionary income to travel long distances and gather in large groups was, shall we say, not compatible with a pandemic. MBArk has been chilling on ice since March 2, 2020.

Even though the pandemic is not over, our coping mechanisms have now improved to the point at which MBArk-style events are now feasible again.
