In partnership with New Hope Network, Naturally Boulder, and the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado, MBArk is launching an executive education program called FIELD – Food (& CPG) Industry Executive Leadership Development.  This is the first executive education program designed by and for the natural products industry.  It will take place July 22-26 in Boulder.

The goal of the program is to accelerate the career development of mid-to-senior-level executives at food and other progressive companies, who may not have had the benefit of an MBA education.  We are doing this through an immersion into several key subject areas, such as Personal Leadership Development, Management of People & Teams, Business Economics, and 21^st Century Marketing.  The unique team-teaching format will feature a member of the CU faculty offering one perspective (research/theory) and an industry practitioner offering another (tactical/practical).

We have an impressive group of instructors, including a star-studded group from the natural products industry featuring 10 current and former CEOs and other C-suite experts – among them, Walter Robb (Whole Foods), Seth Goldman (Honest Tea/Beyond Meat), Mark Retzloff (everything), Paddy Spence (Zevia), Jane Miller (Lily’s Sweets, Rudi’s, ProYo), Terry Tierney (Daiya), Jill Bagley (Fresca Foods), Cammie Muller (Aurora Organic Dairy), Kate Brown (Boulder Organic Foods), Blair Kellison (Traditional Medicinals), Sarah Bird (Bhakti Chai), and Doug Radi (Good Karma).

The program includes 10 outstanding meals and a field trip to see production facilities and retail concepts around Boulder.  Discounted hotel rooms are available until July 1 at two outstanding hotels – the beautifully renovated Best Western Boulder Inn, and the brand new Embassy Suites Boulder.  (For more information about hotels, go to the program hotels page.)

At $5,600 (with discounts for multiple registrations from the same company), the program is a great value compared to most executive education programs, which typically run $8-12,000 for a week.  There are few programs in existence that give a company a chance to invest in its employees in this way.  FIELD will offer participants unprecedented access to industry leaders and scholars; critical new skills that will heighten their effectiveness on the job; the concepts, framework, and vocabulary of key subjects taught in MBA programs; an illustration of best practices in numerous fields; and ongoing access to deeper learning modules after the in-person program has ended.
